1.3.1.1. Information concerning University Pierre et Marie-Curie

  • Inquire at the ERASMUS office of your campus. The ERASMUS coordinator will explain procedure to follow.
  • Contact the administrative coordinator (ERASMUS “Médecine”) of Paris VI, Laurette Baur, who will supply you with the following forms :
    Application for candidature (also available from your local coordinator)
    The Internet list necessary for your enquiry concerning programs at the medical school
    Adresses and hospital contacts : Pitié-Salpêtrière, Saint-Antoine, Broussais Hôtel-Dieu

1.3.1.2. How to enrol for an Erasmus exchange in medicine at Paris VI ?

  • Request application form for candidature “Accueil Paris VI” from your local coordinator
  • Fill out the application form
  • Make special note of additional documents necessary :
    Curriculum Vitae
    Letter of motivation in French
    Transcript of grades
  • Submit completed form to your local coordinator before the deadline (05/31/2008)

1.3.1.3 How to improve language level ?

  • Courses of the College of Medecine are given in French. It is strongly advised to have a solid basis in French in order to successfully follow these courses
  • Request information from you local coordinator, there are linguistic scholarships available to improve your level in French
  • Within the framework of an Erasmus exchange, Paris VI offers courses in French as a foreign language (FLE).

1.3.1.4 Exchange scholarships

  • Erasmus scholarship
  • Request information from your local coordinator for financial aide available in addition to the Erasmus scholarship

1.3.1.5 Additional documents necessary in case of acceptance for exchange

  • Erasmus contract plus one photocopy
  • Two ID photos
  • Photocopy of student card
  • Record of vaccinations (Tuberculosis, polio, diphtheria, tetanus, hepatitis B) plus one copy
  • Social Security : forms E111 or E128 or private medical insurance
  • Personal responsibility insurance (SMEREP)
  • Professional Medical Responsibility insurance (when you are in Paris, information is available at the “scolarité” on campus)
